The drain lever in the tub won’t shut and thus the water runs out of the tub. This is a fairly new tub and used very little. I took out the old and tried to put in a new kit, but after installing in the hole in the tub, the kit doesn’t work,but appears stuck.
Do you know what I did wrong?

Sounds like the drain lever needs adjusting.pull the lever back out and shorten up the linkage.

I’m assuming the hole in the tub you are refering to is the overflow. You probably need to adjust the linkage to allow free movement up and down and to also allow for proper seating to stop the tub from draining unwantedly.
