        Thanks for the replies- two other questions: The air vents the plumber replaced looked like they are made of nickel, yet one of the replies mentioned brass. Are they all of a standard size (this is what the plumber told us), or do they come in a number of different sizes? Where can I get the correct ones (in Canada), and should we attempt replacement again?

            They are made of brass and then chrome plated for appearances. Most of them are 1/8″ pipe thread but there are some 1/4″ with large wheel handles for commercial purposes.
