I need to know if there is a cure for my well water that smells horrible. I already took out the anoid rod in the heater and the heater is 4 months old.It gets worse when the water softener is on.Is there an additive I can put in my softener to take away the smell. thanks

No, unfortunately there is nothing that you can put into your softener to deal with H2S (hydrogen sulfide) problems. I would like to direct you to a web site that has an excellent solution for your problem. http://www.watersweet.com
