Refinish or replace bath tub?

I bought a house and there is a light baby blue enamel tub with metal under it. It is a built in tub. I can get it refinished but I am wondering if I can somehow replace the built in tub with a claw foot tub. My fiancé really likes that kind of tub and I want to know if there is anyway I can “rip out the old and put in a new one?” I would appreciate it if you can give me any advice.

You can do anything you have the time and money for. Ripping out the new and installing the old will involve repairing a lot of walls and possibly the floor if the finish floor material was not installed under the tub.
