The pipe that comes out of the wall for the shower head to attach to broke off at the elbow joint inside the wall. The main pipe and elbow are copper but the pipe that broke was pot metal. This seems to be glued into the elbow and will not turn out of it. Is there some way to get this out without having to do major plumbing repairs?
You could first try a needle nose vice grips, peeling it out if it is soft, if hard use a hacksaw blade to cut into the nipple then pry it out with a screw driver. Don’t cut into the elbo threads, a little scratch on the threads is o.k.
Or use an easyout/pipe extractor to remove the broken nipple in the wall.
