recently the floor drain in the basement has been backing up whenever anything is used. this includes tub, toilet, sink, and now washing machine. are there any cheap and/or easy fixes to this?

No your pipe is stopped up past where the floor drain is connected, have a sewer man run a cable downyour pipe.

My daughter’s house just had the same problem and they tried a ballon/blow bag that connects to a garden hose, tried for hours from differn’t cleanouts and it didn’t work.

We had to use a drain cleaning machine and pulled out a 1/4 garbage bag of flushable baby wipes.

Again, Art has given the best answer.

i appreciate your reply, where is the best place to tackle it? should we go from the floor drain, or should we just call out a pro?

It’s best to takle it from a cleanout or cleanouts in the basement area.

If you don’t have an accssable C.O. hopfully you have a 3″ or 4″ floor drain you can go through.

If you think you are going to have a hard time it’s best to call a plumbing company that does drain cleaning.
