Finishing my basement bathroom…had my builder stub out a 1 1/2″ vent pipe to the attic for my bathroom fan….Decided to install an upflush system that has a 3″ vent pipe…My question is can I tie both (the fan exhaust and this 3″ vent pipe) into this 1 1/2″ vent sleeve I had the builder install or does the upflow need it’s own sleeve?

First thing is you cant cut size of the toilet vent down, second you would have a bypass and sewer gas would be sucked into buiding, you cant connect a Plumbing vent into a local vent. Run a new 3″ vent through the roof before builder gets down. Its against our code.

tysm for your response….I think the next step will be running the 3″ exhaust strait out the wall above ground level like a dryer vent…house is finished upstairs…figure this will be the easiest thing to do

Not sure about venting it horizontally, that’s not code here but may be there for a simple fan vent. But for range hood vents, etc, they need to be vented vertically through the roof.

I would suggest you get somebody who is certified for venting. Just the fact you asked about venting a toilet through a 1.5″ sleeve is scary. And I would’nt terminate the bath fan vent in an attic unless you want alot of mold and mildew up there.
