A friend of mine has well water. They recently had two different hot water tanks put in because there cold tap water is nice and clear but there hot water is a red-orange color. The installer of the tank is at a lost for what may be causing this problem. Can anyone help me with an answer?

Did you ever have water tested, sounds like lots of irn, might have to install a water softner. Let me know.

Is there a filter on the system? If not, there needs to be. If there is then the filter media most likely needs to be changed.
