I saw an advertisement for this product recently. They (Dynaquip?) claims that it became available in Jan. 2000. Pricing is around $350 for the valve and 3 wireless moisture sensors. The idea is that you mount the valve near the water entrance to the house. Then place the sensors anywhere in the house you don’t expect to see water (water heaters, washing machine, etc.) If a sensor detects water, it sends a command (wireless) to the valve to close, thereby minimizing (or eliminating) flooding.

Does anyone have any experience with this or similar products?

        Thanks,

        Ed

Ed, I have not seen this product but the concept sounds great. I would see what type of warranty the offer and make sure they offer repair parts for the unit.
