I have been told that many water heaters made in recent years are experiencing the failure of something called a dip tube. I purchased a water heater in 1996 for my new home and wanted to know if I should be concerned about it? If so, what should I do? Any advice would be appreciated.

Call manufacturer of WH – they are all aware of this problem. I don’t think 1996 units were affected but check anyhow
