I will be installing an ejector pump and would like advice on the best way to do it. I have read several different items on the web. All suggest a check valve but some suggest a gate valve and/or a drain valve as well. Also, gate valves have many negative comments and suggestions are to use ball valves instead. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The shut off valve, whether gate or ball, is normally only needed in a two pump situation where you will want to isolate a pump whicl it is being serviced. In a single pump situation, it is of value only when you need to take the check valve out and do not want to drain the water from the riser pipe onto the floor.
